Greetings to all
new and old members from your new newsletter person.
My name is Peggy
Marston. I’m originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I lived
in New Orleans for several years and most recently in
Bloomington, Indiana. Now I’m alive and well in OKC. I feel like
I’ve returned to my ancestral home since most of my dad’s family
was from Southeastern OK since before statehood. I look forward
to meeting and working with my fellow OSCA members.

SONGWRITERS CHALLENGE
This is a new segment I’m adding to the newsletter – Challenge
yourself to write a song. This month it’s about the holiday
season.
You can write a cute song for children, an adult fun song for
grown ups or a religious song for your family or church or
worship group, or any kind of song that expresses your holiday
spirit.
If your city or county has a special holiday celebration,
write a song about that. Who knows, next year they might
perform your song at the celebration. If you haven’t written a
song in a while, the holiday season is a good time to
challenge yourself to start writing again.
So what do you do with the new song you write every month?
Submit it to our Songwriter of the Month competition – see
information below.

COLLABORATION
New member, Donna Marston from Troy, KS is looking for a music

Here you will find education tools to help better your skills in
song writing. If you have anything you would like to add please

The Oklahoma Songwriters Web-site is adding
a page just for the
SONGWRITER OF THE MONTH.
On that page will feature:
1) The winning lyrics of your song scrolling for viewers
2) Your song automatically playing when the web page comes up.
3) Slide show of up to 6 photos(s) from the featured songwriter
4) A bio with more extensive information about the songwriter
(than what is posted on our members pages for free) and what
inspired them to write the song being featured.
5) Your own personal space on OSCA web site for the month to
spotlight and sell your recordings if desired.
PERSONAL
PROMOTIONAL PAGES
Our web
designer is offering "Personal Promotional Pages" for all OSCA
Members. If you have a CD or appearance, etc. to promote a one
time charge of $25 (payable directly to our web designer, not
through OSCA) will give you your own personal web page attached
to your Members section on OSCA web site.

FREE EMAIL ACCOUNTS FOR OSCA MEMBERS
If you have an
e-mail account then you have already been notified about the
newly constructed OSCA web-site! If you do have an e-mail
account and did not receive the information then OSCA does not
have your mail account on file!!!! If you do not have internet
access be sure to keep your address and phone number current
with OSCA (then read below).
As a "member in good standing" you will have some personal
benefits to the web site:
#1 You can have
your own personal OSCA e-mail account on the site and its free
to our members. Your e-mail address would be your name (first
initial and last name) yourname@oklahomasongwriters.com
#2 You can
upload 2 of your songs (in an mp3 format), a photo of yourself
and a brief bio.
